Selecting the right attorney is an important decision. You will need an experienced criminal defense attorney AND also one who makes the appropriate presentation as your representative and advocate. The attorney you select will be a reflection of how you wish to be perceived by all parties involved in your case. Although selecting an attorney “over the phone” is possible, a face-to-face meeting with your lawyer is ideal. Meeting with your attorney in person accomplishes a variety of goals and should answer the following questions:

  1. Does the attorney have an actual office and how is it presented? Look for a clean, impressive and organized working environment. This is a reflection on the professionals you are selecting to represent you.
  2. Are there a sufficient number of professional support staff members who can assist the attorney throughout the duration of your case?
  3. Does the attorney look professional and carry himself/herself in a confident and well-groomed manner? Would you want this attorney representing your interests in Court in front of a Judge and the Government’s lawyer?

Expect to fully discuss your background with us and to disclose ANY prior legal issues with us. Your criminal history (or lack thereof) can have a tremendous impact on how your current case will be handled. Anything you discuss with us (whether we will be representing or not) is covered by the "attorney client privilege." By law, our discussions will remain private. This law is in place to help facilitate a meaningful dialogue between the attorney and a prospective client. It is meant to protect you so that you can feel comfortable having a full confidential conversation with your prospective lawyer so that he/she can fully evaluate your case. We can only protect you from what we know about. Expect to discuss the following:

  1. Your criminal and/or arrest history (or lack thereof).
  2. Your educational status, background and history.
  3. Your employment status which includes what you do and if you have any special licenses or reporting requirements.
  4. Your immigration status and citizenship issues.

What happened? Was an arrest made? Is there a pending investigation? Obviously, we will spend quite a bit of time discussing the facts surrounding your legal issue. We encourage you to bring any police reports or documents in your possession relating to your case. Please also bring with you any physical items of evidence you may possess (photographs, recordings, medical records). If you have any witnesses, we encourage you to bring them with you to your consultation, make them available by telephone or be prepared to give us a list of people that may be able to help us in preparing your defense..

With all of the above information culminated, we will be able to discuss the goals associated with your case. Our primary goal in any criminal or traffic case we handle is a full dismissal. We will discuss how we may be able to accomplish this goal. We will also address secondary or back up goals which may include a resolution resulting in no conviction on your record and no jail time or prison.

Each prospective client’s case and situation are unique. We generally prefer to discuss fees last. We also want to make sure we can HELP you before we discuss any fee arrangement. Only after we learn about you, your history, your case and your goals can we appropriately address fees and costs. Our fees are extremely reasonable and we offer a variety of payment plans and options. Our main objective is to help you get the best possible result and try to be flexible on fees depending on the nature of the case and the scope of the work necessary to achieve the best possible result for you.
