The city of Tallahassee, located in the north of the state of Florida, ranks second after the District of Columbia in the United States in terms of demand for lawyers. Experts reached this conclusion after the annual survey conducted by the American Bar Association. In third place is another Florida city – Miami.
However, such a significant growth occurs against the background of a shortage of lawyers in the state of Florida, which became known after a recent study of experts. According to statistics, for every 1,000 residents of Florida, there are only 1.7 lawyers, while in the whole country, this figure is an average of 2.8. This is despite the fact that Florida’s poverty rate is also higher than the nation as a whole. And that makes the need for attorneys even greater.
Demand is higher in metropolitan areas.
In addition to the Capital Region (Washington, D.C.) and Tallahassee, which is Florida’s state capital, 11 other capital cities are on the list:
- Charleston, West Virginia;
- Sacramento, Calif;
- Carson City, Nevada;
- Cheyenne, Wyoming;
- Denver, Colorado;
- Albany, New York;
- Trenton, New Jersey;
- Hartford, Connecticut;
- Montgomery, Ala;
- Boston, Massachusetts;
- Topeka, Kansas.
However, there are many capital cities where the demand for lawyers is even lower than in the country as a whole. Among them are quite a few well-known communities: Phoenix, Honolulu, Columbus, and Nashville.
However, one can’t help but notice an improvement in the situation, as the number of lawyers in the state of Florida has increased by 24% over the last decade. But even this is still not enough, especially if we are talking about really professional lawyers who do not play the 1xbet app or watch videos at work but work, trying to solve the problems of their clients.
The total number of lawyers in the country
As the latest data shows, the number of lawyers in the United States is about 1.3 million people. At the same time, most representatives of this important profession work in New York, where 9.6 lawyers per 1000 people are registered. In second place in the concentration of specialists was the state of Massachusetts, with an indicator of 6.1 lawyers per 1000 people. Well, the third was the neighbouring Connecticut, which employs 5.8 lawyers per 1,000 residents.
Obviously, the aforementioned states have the highest competition in the legal field. While Florida, lacking in such service, allows professionals not to sit idle and be constantly loaded with orders. So, it is likely that the market growth in this southern American state will continue.
