West Palm Beach Mayor’s Son Arrested at SunFest
Our South Florida criminal defense lawyers have learned that Mayor Lois Frankel’s son was arrested last Friday evening following an incident with a local media buyer and West Palm Beach police supporter. Mayor Frankel reportedly said the arrest on the charge of strong-armed robbery was “a political, not criminal, incident.”
The so-called victim was carrying a sign criticizing the mayor in conjunction with the police department’s ‘Operation SunFest’ protest. He claims that that three men threw him against the wall and tried to smash his sign. Frankel and local police officers are stuck in contract negotiations, but she would not comment on whether her son’s arrest was related to pay disputes with the police.
Frankel’s son and the son’s friend were released on their own recognizance on Saturday morning.
